I'm going to do this routine as soon as I reach home. Do you think its a good idea to use a dumbbell for the second exercise?

For the second exercise, I wouldn't suggest using a dumbbell. Your core will be under a lot of tension with just your body-weight alone. No weights is needed for that exercise.
